Our final g2g Outside event is upon us! You have the opportunity to do some bird watching in the Jungle Building at the Sedgwick County Zoo! Here are the details:

When: Saturday, December 14th from 3:30 pm – 5 pm.

Where: Sedgwick County Zoo Jungle Building

Meet At: I will post that information as soon as I have it, but typically we meet at the Cargill Learning Center and you MUST be on time!

Zoo LogoOur first g2g event of the year is just around the corner, and for this one you must RSVP! Here’s the details:

What: g2g Visits the Farms at the Sedgwick County Zoogoat

Families will learn about the critically important domestic animals at the Sedgwick County Zoo, and then go to the farms to learn how to care for the animals first hand! Please wear close-toed shoes and bring work gloves if you have them! We will be working with Tunis sheep, Arapawa island goats, Navajo churro sheep, Nigerian dwarf goats, Nankin chickens, and Dominique chickens.

When: Saturday, March 30th from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

Where: Meet at 3:30 p.m. at the Cargill Learning Center at the Sedgwick County Zoo.

If you want to visit the rest of the zoo first, you will have to pay admission. There will not be time to visit the rest of the zoo after the activities are over.

Boeing Wichita Presents: Earth Day Kansas

Thursday, April 19, 2012: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Celebrate Earth Day Kansas!  This free environmental fair gives everyone the opportunity to learn how to protect and care for the world we live in. With hands-on activities and interactive exhibits, there are many learning opportunities for children. Activities are geared towards third through fifth grade.

Zoo entrance is free on Thursday, April 19 in honor of Earth Day!

Celebrate Nature and Animals at the Sedgwick County Zoo.

Join g2g Outside at the Sedgwick County Zoo this Saturday, Jan 29, from 9am to 5pm to Celebrate Kansas’ 150th B-day. 

In1861 Kansas became the 34th state in the United States. Join us for a fun-filled day Celebrating the 150th “birthday” of Kansas. All activities will take place in the Cargill Learning Center and this free event is open to the public. Zoo admission is not included with this event, however, members always get in free with a membership card and a photo ID. Fun activities will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Special guest speakers from, WSU, Kansas Wildlife and Park, US Fish and Wildlife Service and others will join us to do special activities and lectures from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (g2g Outside’s session is at 10am) 

This is a family friendly event and all ages are welcome. Jan 29 Sat 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Cargill Learning Center.  For all our Winter Mission participants, attendance at this event will count towards one of your 8 missions!
